The exact cause of Coronary Artery Disease is unknown. However, there are several factors that may increase your risk of CAD including:
- Sex (male or postmenopausal female)
- Age (middle age)
- Family history (you have a relative with CAD)
- High blood pressure
- High blood cholesterol
- Smoking
- Diabetes
- Obesity (you are overweight)
- Inactivity
